Steven Hicks is a postdoctoral fellow in human machine communication at University of Toronto Mississauga Institute of Communication, Culture, Information and Technology. Steve's doctoral research focused on historical media leading to his emerging interests in the role of sound in our interactions with our contemporary media environment. His emerging postdoctoral projects explore AI composition, sonification, and mortality in the digital age.

Samantha is a sociolinguist and Provost’s Postdoctoral Fellow at UTM. Her research focuses on linguistic rights and equity. Her doctoral work documented the acquisition patterns of Trinidadian preschoolers. Her postdoctoral project investigates accent discrimination against immigrants to Ontario.
